Description
The CD4015 is a dual 4-stage static shift register IC, containing two independent 4-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift registers on a single chip.
Being static, each register retains its stored data indefinitely as long as power is applied, without needing a refresh clock, useful for expanding a limited number of control lines into more parallel outputs.
Part of the CD40xx CMOS logic family, this IC is a standard building block for serial-to-parallel data conversion circuits.
