Description
The CD4047 is a monostable/astable multivibrator IC, capable of operating either as a one-shot timer (monostable mode) generating a single output pulse, or as a free-running oscillator (astable mode) generating a continuous square wave.
The timing period in either mode is set by an external RC (resistor-capacitor) network, letting the pulse width or oscillation frequency be tuned to the application without additional digital timing logic.
Part of the CD40xx CMOS logic family, this IC is a standard building block for pulse generation and oscillator circuits.
