Description
The CD4059 is a programmable divide-by-N counter from the 40xx series CMOS logic family. This versatile device can be programmed to divide an input clock frequency by any integer from 3 to 9999, using a combination of BCD inputs on three decades. The count ratio is set by external pins, providing flexibility for frequency division and timing applications.
The CD4059 can operate in three modes (standard, zero-detect, and master reset) and provides both carry-out and zero-detect outputs for cascading multiple devices. Its wide division range and flexible programming make it suitable for frequency synthesizers, digital phase-locked loops, and programmable timers.
