Description
The MOC3062 is a TRIAC opto-coupler that lets a low-voltage control circuit switch a high-voltage AC load while maintaining electrical isolation between the two sides, rated for 7500Vrms isolation.
It includes built-in zero-cross detection, meaning it only allows the TRIAC to trigger when the AC waveform crosses zero volts — this reduces electrical noise and inrush current compared to random-phase switching, making it well suited to relay-style AC switching applications.
The output side is rated for 400V, and the device operates across -40°C to +85°C, requiring only a low trigger current on the input LED side. It’s housed in a standard DIP-6 package for easy breadboard or PCB integration.
