The 2N5679 is a PNP silicon power transistor built for applications that need both high voltage and high current handling in a single hermetic TO-39 metal-can package. With a 100V VCEO/VCBO rating and 1.0A continuous collector current, it sits in the “high-voltage general-purpose” category used for series regulators, driver stages, and switching circuits operating well above typical logic-level supply rails.
