Description
The 2N6426 is the standard-gain sibling of the 2N6427 NPN Darlington transistor family, built the same way — an internal two-stage BJT cascade in a single TO-92 package — and sharing the same 40V/1.0A maximum ratings. The Darlington configuration multiplies current gain by combining the hFE of both internal transistors, so a very small base current is enough to fully saturate the output stage.
This makes the 2N6426 well suited to direct logic-level driving of relays, solenoids, small motors, and lamp or LED loads, where a conventional single transistor would need an extra pre-driver stage to reach the same base sensitivity.
