CD4502 Strobed Hex Inverter/Buffer

The CD4502 is a strobed hex inverter/buffer from the 40xx series of CMOS logic. This device combines six inverting buffer channels with an active-high strobe (enable) input that controls all outputs simultaneously. A “disable” feature forces the outputs into a high-impedance (tri-state) condition when the strobe is asserted, making the CD4502 suitable for multiplexed data applications.

Each channel is a standard CMOS inverter with enhanced drive capability, allowing it to interface with TTL or other logic families. The strobe input provides a convenient global enable for bus-oriented designs, enabling the outputs to be isolated from the system when not actively driving.
