Description
The CD4526 is a divide-by-N counter from the 40xx-series CMOS family, designed for programmable frequency division. The device includes a 4-bit binary counter that can be preset to a selected division factor via BCD inputs, allowing flexible division ratios from 1 through 15. An internal oscillator can be used with external components, or an external clock can be applied directly.
Operating from 3V to 18V, the CD4526 features asynchronous preset capability, multiple output modes, and can be cascaded to produce larger division ratios. The oscillator section can be used with an external crystal or RC network to generate the master clock. This IC is suitable for frequency synthesis, time-delay generation, and programmable clock division.
