Description
The CD4543 is a BCD-to-7-segment decoder/driver from the 40xx-series CMOS family, designed to convert binary-coded decimal inputs into the seven segment drive signals required for numeric displays. The device provides outputs capable of directly driving common-cathode 7-segment LED displays, making it suitable for instrumentation, clock, and measurement readout circuits.
Operating across a 3V to 18V supply range, the CD4543 includes a latch function to hold the displayed data, a blanking input for display blanking, and a phase input for display polarity control. The 16-pin DIP package supports standard breadboarding and PCB assembly. The decoder offers a built-in test function and supports both BCD input and special display patterns.
