Description
The CD4585 is a 4-bit magnitude comparator from the 40xx-series CMOS logic family. It compares two 4-bit binary or BCD words (A and B) and provides three active-high outputs indicating whether A is less than, equal to, or greater than B. This device is used in arithmetic logic units, address decoding, and data comparison systems where binary equality or ordering must be determined.
Designed for 3V to 18V operation, the CD4585 features full buffered outputs for consistent drive capability. The comparator includes cascading inputs (AB) that allow expansion to 8-, 12-, or 16-bit comparison by connecting multiple devices in series.
