Description
The PN2222 is an NPN silicon transistor built for general-purpose switching and amplification, rated at 40V collector-emitter and 60V collector-base voltage with a 600mA maximum collector current in a TO-92 package. It’s the plastic-package version of the classic metal-can 2N2222, sharing the same electrical performance.
With hFE of 100-300 depending on collector current and a transition frequency around 250MHz, it’s one of the most widely used general-purpose transistors in hobbyist and professional designs alike, from simple switching circuits to audio amplifier stages.
