Description

The BC516 is a PNP Darlington transistor that provides very high current gain, making it suitable for applications requiring high sensitivity or low input drive. The Darlington configuration multiplies the individual gains, resulting in a current gain typically in the thousands.

This device is packaged in TO-92 and is commonly used for switching loads such as relays, LEDs, and small motors, as well as for amplification in low-level signal stages. The BC516 features a built-in base-emitter resistor for improved thermal stability.
