Description
The BC517 is an NPN Darlington transistor that offers very high current gain, making it ideal for applications requiring high sensitivity or low input drive. The Darlington configuration consists of two transistors in series, resulting in a current gain that is the product of the individual gains, typically in the thousands.
This device is housed in a TO-92 package and is commonly used for switching loads such as relays, LEDs, and small motors, as well as for amplification in low-level signal stages. The BC517 features a built-in base-emitter resistor for improved thermal stability.
