Description
The CD4515 is a 4-bit latch with a 4-to-16 line decoder from the 40xx-series CMOS family. The device latches the 4-bit input address on the rising edge of the strobe signal and then decodes it to activate one of 16 outputs. The outputs are inverting (active-low), providing compatibility with active-low address decoding schemes.
Operating from 3V to 18V, the CD4515 includes a latch-enable input and output enable for flexible control. The output enable can force all outputs high (inactive) regardless of the input state, providing bus isolation capability. This IC is used in memory address decoding, peripheral selection, and multi-channel data routing applications.
