Description
The CD4520 is a dual 4-bit binary up-counter from the 40xx-series CMOS family, containing two independent synchronous binary counters. Each counter increments on the rising edge of the clock input and can be reset to zero via an active-high reset input. The device provides buffered outputs for driving subsequent logic stages directly.
Operating from 3V to 18V, the CD4520 supports fast counting operation and can be cascaded to create larger count ranges. The dual counter configuration allows two independent counting operations in one package, reducing component count in multi-channel counting systems. This IC is suitable for frequency measurement, pulse counting, and sequence generation applications.
