Slide Switch (3 Pin – SPDT)

A slide switch is a simple mechanical switch that changes connection state by physically sliding a small actuator lever left or right, rather than being pressed or toggled. This 3-pin SPDT (Single Pole, Double Throw) version connects one common pin to either of two other pins depending on the slider’s position, making it ideal for manually switching a circuit between two fixed states – such as selecting between two power sources, two signal paths, or a simple ON-ON mode selector – without needing a microcontroller or any electronics.

Unlike momentary push buttons which only stay active while held, a slide switch is latching: once moved to a position, it stays there until physically slid again, giving it a stable, unambiguous reading. Its compact size and simple 3-pin layout make it easy to mount directly on a PCB or panel-wire into an enclosure.
