Description
The 2N5400 is a PNP silicon epitaxial planar transistor from the same high-voltage family as the 2N5401, rated for 120V VCEO and 130V VCBO. It shares the 600mA collector current and 625mW dissipation of its family in the same compact TO-92 package, offering a slightly lower-voltage option where the full 160V of the 5401 isn’t needed.
Like its family members, it’s intended for general-purpose amplification and switching in circuits operating at elevated voltages, and it directly complements the NPN 2N5550 for symmetric push-pull designs.
