Description
The 2N5550 is an NPN epitaxial silicon transistor from the same high-voltage amplifier family as the 2N5551, rated for 140V VCEO and 160V VCBO — a step down in voltage headroom from the 5551 but still well above conventional small-signal parts. It shares the 600mA collector current and 625mW dissipation rating of its family, all in a compact TO-92 package.
It suits general-purpose high-voltage amplifier stages and gas-discharge display driving where the full 160V of the 5551 isn’t required, and is the direct complement to the PNP 2N5400 for symmetric circuit designs.
