Description
The 2N6027 is a programmable unijunction transistor (PUT), the standard-grade member of the 2N6027/2N6028 family. Like its 2N6028 sibling it lets a designer set the unijunction intrinsic standoff ratio and peak/valley currents externally through two program resistors, rather than being fixed as in a classic UJT.
It is the workhorse choice for relaxation oscillators, long-duration timing circuits, and SCR/triac gate trigger networks, thanks to its anode-gate-cathode structure and low on-state voltage drop. Supplied in an inexpensive TO-92 plastic package, it is well suited to high-volume automatic-insertion assembly.
