The AMS1117 3.3V Power Module Board HW-122 is an LDO (low-dropout) linear voltage regulator breakout built around the AMS1117-3.3 chip, converting an unregulated 4.5V–12V DC input into a fixed 3.3V output.
Because it’s a linear regulator, the dropout voltage sits around 1V to 1.3V — the input voltage should stay reasonably close to the target output to avoid excess heat dissipation. Maximum output current is rated at 800mA, enough for powering 3.3V logic-level sensors and small microcontroller modules.
The board includes onboard SMD filter capacitors for cleaner output and a red power indicator LED, with a simple 2.54mm-pitch VIN/GND/VOUT/GND pin interface for easy breadboard integration. An unsoldered 4-pin male header is included.
